Happy Vijya Dashami


the first day of the Greatest Festival of Nepal Bada Dashain-Nava Ratra is being observed in Nepal beginning today, September 30, 2008.
In Ghatasthapana-literally meaning pot establishing begins by planting Jamara.
The Jamara is a sacred grass germinated from the Barley or Maize seeds which have special significance for the Hindus world over.
On Dashami elders put Tika and Jamara on the forehead and head and bless the youngsters for a happy and prosperous life.
